Architectural critic H. W. Frohe hailed the Blum’s work as an “artistic advance in the building of our time.”

An intriguing piece of its past includes a penthouse apartment resembling a bungalow, once leased to Broadway actor Donald Brian and movie director Dudley Murphy, as well as a speakeasy that fell silent with the arrival of prohibition agents in 1932.
